Slab moisture is patient and it is brutal. A floor can look perfect for weeks, then vapor pressure pushes through and the coating bubbles, delaminates, or whitens. A moisture vapor barrier is the insurance that keeps your reputation intact.
We stock the MVB primers that seal a green or damp slab so the system above it can cure and stay put. Test first, then barrier, then build.

New construction, ground-level slabs, anything without a vapor retarder poured under it, and any floor that has already bubbled once. If the concrete can wick moisture, vapor pressure will find the weakest bond in your system and push it loose. A barrier is how you stop that before it costs you a re-do.
This is not a glamorous part of the catalog and it is one of the most important. The crews that test slabs and barrier when the numbers call for it are the crews that do not get the angry phone call six weeks later. We stock the primers and the test kits both.

How do I know if I need a moisture barrier?
Test the slab. New concrete and slabs without a vapor retarder under them are prime suspects. We stock test kits so you are not guessing.
What happens if I skip it?
On a wet slab, vapor pressure can bubble or delaminate the floor weeks later. That is the classic callback this product prevents.
Can I coat a new slab right away?
Fresh concrete holds a lot of moisture. Often you need a high-tolerance MVB to coat early. Tell us the slab age and test numbers.
Do I need to test the slab first?
Always. Test first, barrier second, build third. Bring us the calcium chloride or RH number and we spec the barrier around it. Skipping the test is how floors fail.
Will a barrier fix an already-failing floor?
No. It is preventive. A failing floor needs diagnosis and likely removal first. Call and we will talk it through.
