The Resin Lab
Metallic Series Epoxy
The pigment carrier behind floors that move under the lamp. This is the Part A we pour on our own showroom floor and teach with in the academy. Pair it with the pigment pack of your choice and a UV-stable topcoat.
Simiron pours metallics too. Their system rides on 1100SL or the fast cure base under their Metallic Additive, and we source the whole Simiron metallic stack from this bench. Tell us the look and the square feet. Call for pricing.
The one metallic from outside the house that earned shelf space. JP Resin pours deep and moves slow under the lamp, and we keep it right next to our own series. Tell the bench which look you are chasing and we will spec either line straight.
1.5 gal kit · Part ASpec & support
Before You Pour
Coverage, plainly
A 1.5 gal kit runs roughly 150 to 250 sq ft as a metallic body coat, depending on your mil build and how thirsty the slab is. Call the bench with your square footage and we will math the kits before you buy a bucket too many.
Mix ratio and pot life
Ratio, pot life and recoat windows are printed on the label and the data sheet, and they matter more on a metallic than any other pour. First metallic? Say so when you call. The owner will walk you through the mix, the pour and the lamp check.
What it pairs with
Under it: our MVB primer if the slab reads damp, or straight to a prepped profile. In it: any Color House metallic pigment pack. Over it: the UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat so the finish never ambers in a sunlit bay.
Shipping and will-call
Ships nationwide from Tracy, CA. Local crews grab will-call the same day. Data sheets, SDS and batch questions: one phone call, no gatekeeping.
Is this a full metallic system or just the resin?
This is the Part A metallic carrier. You add the metallic pigment of your choice, and we stock the pigment packs and the topcoats that finish the system. Tell us the look you are chasing and we will pull the full stack for the job.
How much do I need for a two-car garage?
Most two-car garages land around one to two kits for the metallic coat depending on mil build. Call with your measurements and we will spec it exactly so you are not stuck mid-pour.
Will it yellow in sunlight?
Epoxy body coats amber if you leave them naked in UV. That is not a defect, it is chemistry. Cap it with the UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat and the color stays where you poured it.
Can a first-timer pour a metallic?
Yes, if you respect the prep and the pot life. We teach this exact pour in the academy in Tracy, and the owner answers the phone when you are standing on the slab wondering what to do next.
Do you ship it or do I pick it up?
Both. We ship nationwide from Tracy, and local crews will-call it the same day. Either way it is the same field-tested bucket.
